Osaka is worth exploring at any hour, but I think first-time visitors should make a point of leaving part of their itinerary open for the city after dark.
Some of my favorite memories from my 2025 trip happened at night around Namba and Dotonbori, moving between restaurants, walking down streets I had not planned to visit and seeing an entirely different side of Osaka emerge once the lights came on.
And you do not have to be interested in clubs or traditional nightlife to enjoy Osaka at night.
That is an important distinction.
