This manual was created to answer those questions—and many more.
Unlike a traditional travel blog, this isn’t a collection of individual articles. It’s a growing travel manual designed to walk you through every stage of planning and experiencing your first trip to Japan. Whether you’re just beginning to consider visiting or already have flights booked, this guide is meant to be a resource you can return to again and again.
I’ve had the opportunity to visit Japan four times and am currently planning my fifth trip for next year. Along the way, I’ve explored some of the country’s busiest cities, wandered quiet neighborhoods, learned from my mistakes, discovered countless small details that make traveling in Japan so enjoyable, and gained a much deeper appreciation for the country with every visit.
My goal isn’t simply to tell you what to see.
My goal is to help you travel with confidence.
Throughout this manual, I’ll share practical advice, lessons I’ve learned firsthand, and the small details that often don’t make it into traditional travel guides. I hope many of the questions running through your mind today are questions I’ve already asked—and answered—during my own travels.
