The Hyatt Regency is a 4-star hotel in the heart of downtown Atlanta, Georgia. I recently stayed and and worked an event in this hotel, giving me time to review and get used to the layout and amenities it has to offer, so let’s review!
The Hyatt Regency, a 4-star hotel, is located in downtown Atlanta, Georgia and is about a 20-minute drive from the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. Built in 1967 and having over 1,200 rooms and thousands of feet of exhibition and meeting space, the hotel is constantly hosting conferences and other events.

So let’s talk amenities. The hotel has a pool, gym, room service and is located (and connected to) the Peach Tree Center, which is home to tons of restaurants and stores. There are several restaurants on site including Sway (lunch and breakfast), Polaris (roof top bar), and Twenty Two Storys, which is a centrally located bar in the main lobby that is open in the evenings with both food and a full liquor bar. And after staying in the hotel for a week and having to eat a lot of the food they prepared, it wasn’t that bad. The menus are solid enough and the quality is good. There is also the Market which is open at 6 AM daily and has coffees, sandwiches, and other snack foods including individual drinks that make it a convenient stop on the way back to your hotel room.

Speaking of hotel rooms, I stayed in a standard room on the 16th floor with queen beds and enjoyed it overall. The room was very clean with just a few scuff marks here and there. The bed was comfortable enough, the lighting was good, and the hotel WIFI was quick and reliable. Something that was new was house keeping cleaned every other day, which was new to me so keep that in mind. They can clean every day, but you have to request it. Another note are the elevators that service the rooms (there are multiple towers that have rooms) and they are super quick, which is nice to have available.
(If you are working a conference, the conference rooms and floors are easily accessible via an escalator and elevators making life fairly easy to navigate or direct people throughout the area).
Lastly is the location in the downtown area and what is available. The hotel is located to a bunch of local restaurants including Corner Bakery (great lunch spot), Ray’s, White Oak Kitchen, and plenty of others. There is a local CVS that is within walking distance and with Peach Tree Center right next door, you will be centrally located to anything you need or want to eat. As for safety, the hotel and area is relatively safe when compared to any other downtown area. Just be smart and aware of your surroundings and you should be fine.
Overall the Hyatt Regency is fantastic. It is modern, clean, gorgeous, and has everything you need, whether you are there to visit the city or working a conference like I had to. It’s an expensive hotel so if you are traveling on a budget, look elsewhere. However, if you have the pockets or have to work an event here, you will the resources and amenities you need for a pleasant stay.
Glad you had a great stay, I enjoyed reading your review. Feel free to check out my hotel reviews too. Have a great day 🙂
