When I visited Tokyo back in 2019, Uber was not a thing. It was hardly a useful app, only being able to call a taxi and useful in just a few spots around Tokyo. In 2023, it has changed but is still an expensive option.

I love Japan, that much is clear, but will I return to this incredible country again in 2024? I am undecided at the moment, but if I do I will need to change some things for the next trip.

Tokyo can seem really intimidating at first look and there is some validity to it. The number of people, the sprawling landscape, and the language barrier can all make it hard to deal with for any experienced traveler. It can all be a bit much if you are not prepared for it, but I want to tell you it’s OK. Take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy the show.

The Tokyo Subway system is an amazing feat of engineering that snakes multiple railways throughout the city. It also takes some brain power to navigate. Here are some helpful tips to help you navigate the system from the perspective of someone who just road them for a week straight while on vacation.

2019 was the last time I came to this incredible country, right before the world closed its doors for several years due to the pandemic. It was a long time coming, but I have been blessed with an incredible opportunity and have enjoyed my time in this country that holds a special place in my heart.
I am off to Japan! I doubt I will be posting any kind of blogs during the trip, instead, I am on vacation and will be enjoying the Land of the Rising Sun!
I am hoping to put together a ton of material for this blog but will do that once I get back (I need a vacation). First, it’s time to enjoy a trip that has been a long time coming.
So stay tuned, the content will come very, very soon. But first, a much needed break from the daily grind and the first vacation in years.
I fly out in just a few days and while my brain is focused on packing and remembering all of those last minute items, one item that is beginning to grow is the pre-travel anxiety.
