There’s something liberating about traveling alone. No set itinerary to follow. No debates over dinner spots. No waiting for someone to catch up. Just me, my thoughts, and the world waiting to be explored.
This blog — Travels with Matt — is now focused on solo travel. It’s where I’ll share the raw, honest experience of being out in the world on my own: the unforgettable highs, the unexpected lows, and everything in between.
Why Solo?
I didn’t start out as a solo traveler. At first, the idea of going it alone felt intimidating. Would I be lonely? Would it be safe? Would I even enjoy it without someone to share the moments with?
But once I did it, I realized something: solo travel is a crash course in self-discovery. It pushes you. It teaches you to be flexible, present, and wildly self-reliant. Every new city becomes a mirror — showing you who you are without distraction and challenging you in ways never imagined.
