I promised myself that 2025 would be the year I would make changes, real changes, in order to improve myself and my dreams. One of those changes was making changes to this blog to make it what I truly want it to be and the first steps have been made.
First is going to be a name change to the blog, going with the new name of Shuttered Streets now. The name of Travels with Matt is officially out the door after having it on here for some time.
Now you may be asking, why the name change? The change reflects a new direction for the blog, moving away from the traditional travel blog posts that I have struggled to create and switching more to photography and the stories that follow the images themselves.
For the longest time now I have felt that the blogs I have been posting are just not fun for me to create. They feel hollow, half-hearted, and are attempting to be a full time travel blogger when I am not. It’s not what I want to do and not what I have a passion for anymore.
Instead, I want to capture more images of daily life, the every day things, and then tell the stories behind what the camera captures. And to go along with that will be the journey of learning photography, both the ups and downs of someone that is embracing a hobby and giving it more life than ever before.
More to come on why the name choice and more, but for the time, I at least wanted to announce the name change and give some background on it before posting more and moving forward.
