2019 was the last time I came to this incredible country, right before the world closed its doors for several years due to the pandemic. It was a long time coming, but I have been blessed with an incredible opportunity and have enjoyed my time in this country that holds a special place in my heart.
Thank you Taka, Haruka, Sai, Yoshi, Laurence, and all of the people I have met along the way. Each tour, experience, conversation, and interaction has left an impression with me that I will never forget (even if the language barrier made it interesting at times).
The trip had its high moments from walking through Golden Gai, Ginza, Shinjuku, and Shibuya and it’s more interesting points like a broken suitcase and other strange events (pretty sure a cult person tried to talk to me). I would do it all over again in a heartbeat even if my feet were killing me at the end of each day.
So as I return home to rest, recover, and get back to work (those bills aren’t going to pay themselves!) I look back on my time in Japan and still can’t believe I was able to return.
So I say thank you Japan (and Tokyo), thank you for another incredible journey and opportunity to visit such an amazing country (even if it was a short visit this time). I will never forget this trip.
