Blog: Flying into Haneda

I nearly forgot that for the first time in my many trips to Japan, I am finally flying into Haneda upon my arrival (and not Narita for once).

Every time I have flown to Japan, I have always had to go through Narita Airport. And while Narita is a nice airport (it moves people along), being an hour outside of Tokyo when you land in Japan is awful. Being jet lagged and then still having to navigate into Tokyo is added pain that many know about.

I wrote about ways to get into Tokyo HERE but no matter which path you take, it still takes time.

However this time, flying into Haneda may be a game changer. My trip into downtown Tokyo will take just about 30 minutes, compared to an hour (or more with traffic). I’m excited and can’t wait to see another airport and not have to deal with the insanity that is Narita.

I am still going to study the airport a bit to make sure I know where to go and see how it flows from arrivals to transportation, but I can take a bit of a breath because I won’t be going through Narita this time.
