Japan in October

Here are the reasons I have decided to make October the perfect time to return to Japan.

Weather – Florida is my home, which means nothing but heat and humidity throughout the year. Japan in October is going to be a major change with cooler temperatures (averaging between 63 and 73 degrees during the day), less humidity and even the leaves turning color throughout the country.

Not as busy – There are a lot of busy times travel times throughout the year in Japan. Golden Week, Sakura, Winter, etc. are all times to avoid if you don’t want to deal with the crowds. Instead, October means less people but also means a change in the weather (cooling off) and a change in the leaves as the fall season begins to set it, making it ideal.

More time to plan – While I would love to fly to Japan tomorrow, putting the trip later in the year gives me more time to plan the trip. There is a lot to go into a major international trip especially when I’m bringing my Father with me. I want every part of the trip to be planned out with back-up planes for weather and other factors so it all takes time and research.

Get prepared – More time means more time to get prepared (and not just planning). This means getting everything booked, getting confirmations all lined up, and then making sure I have all the gear I am going to need for the trip. I haven’t been outside the US in a while so it will be a lot of work to have the right bags, paperwork, and clothing so extra time is going to be needed. Plus any extra time I can get to study my Japanese is going to be handy!
