There are 23 wards that make up the greater Tokyo area. Each with its own unique charm and sites that make it unique to itself within Tokyo. Here are my top five wards to see while visiting Tokyo.
These are in no particular order:
Roppongi: Roppongi is known as a night life hub, especially for foreigners, but there is more to it. Roppongi is home to Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Tower, Zozoji Temple, and much more. It is a great place to stay due to being centrally located and makes accessing any of the other wards a breeze. There is more to the area than just its night life, offering a bit for everyone.
Shibuya: Shibuya is a must see for anyone that wants to experience the insanity that is Tokyo (especially at night). From the bustling shops to the world famous Shibuya crossing, Shibuya is a vibrant and busy ward, making it a must see. It is a great place to shop, eat, and explore for both locals and tourists alike.

Shinjuku: If you are looking for the glow of the neon lights, small pubs, and back ally restaurants that seem set in a different world, Shinjuku is for you. While all of these wards have their own tourist sites (shrines, temples, etc.) it is these unique little things places that make each their own and Shinjuku has it all. Plus there is the world’s busiest train station that is something else to explore.
Akihabara: Electric Town. If you are looking for electronics (especially vintage), games, or a huge anime/manga fan, look no further than Akihabara. There are so many stores, cafes, and shops that cater to your inner (or outer) nerd self that you have to make a stop here and buy as much as you can. You will never know what you will find in these endless stores.

Asakusa: Asakusa is a charming area of Tokyo that is a little quieter/slower pace when compared to Shibuya but is still packed with a ton to see like Sensoji Temple or the modern monster that is Tokyo Skytree. It is a fun place to get explore and you will always find something new along the way.
What are you favorite Wards to visit?
