The Fairfield Inn & Suites Homestead Florida is a new, 3-star hotel located near the heart of Miami and the bustling areas of Coral Gables, Homestead, and South Florida.
The hotel is located off of the Florida Turnpike in Florida city, putting it right between Homestead, Coral Gables, and driving distance to downtown Miami and the surrounding area (including the Everglades). The hotel is also new, being opened in 2020 (Google street view still shows an empty lot). The hotel is 6 floors and has a gym, outdoor pool, and a 24 hour front desk.
The grounds of the hotel are well kept and very clean. The front lobby area was very nice and the hallways and elevators were maintained. The front desk itself was very helpful and very nice during check-in and departure. The biggest issue was the continental breakfast that was served. It was just powdered eggs, sausages, cereals, some breads, and a juice machine. The worst part was the coffee and powered creamer that was available, not the greatest selection when you wanted a coffee to get the day started (I mean, they couldn’t afford any real stuff?).
The room itself (I had a suite) was very big with plenty of space to spread out. It was very clean and well kept. All of the electronics worked, however a lack of plugins at the desk was a slight issue along with the lack of toiletries were the only things that were to note as lacking for a 3-star hotel (just a single bar of soap and the shampoo and conditioner pumps in the shower, not exactly a lot of thrills for this hotel). Overall the stay was pleasant and I never had an issue with noise or loud people. Again, the room was large, clean, and did its job. I just wish the pillows bad been a little bit nicer.
The area around it is quite busy being right next to the Turnpike in the Miami area. There are plenty of gas stations and restaurants around but not a lot of fine dining spots (unless you consider Crack Barrel fine dining). For anything truly South Beach, you will have to travel about 30 minutes into downtown Miami to get better food but if you just need Starbucks or McDonalds, they are all around the area near the hotel.
Overall the Fairfield Inn & Suites is a nice, modern, and clean hotel just outside of the Miami area, making it a great spot to gain access to all of the big areas in the Miami area but is far away enough to escape to some peace and quiet.
